High School Rowing

Learn to row and compete for your school in this excellent program offered by the St. John's Rowing Club. With your school you will learn to row, train to win, and compete against other schools at the annual High School Regatta held on the last weekend of June. Athletes will row four person, two person, and possibly even one person boats. Training will start in early winter and on-water rowing will start as soon as the ice has left Quidi Vidi Lake.

Participating Schools include:

Prince of Wales Collegiate
Booth Memorial
Gonzaga High School
Holy Spirit High
Holy Heart High School
Holy Trinity High School
Bishops College
Mount Pearl Senior High

Memberships:

The club offers a variety of memberships to suit your interest:

Full Membership: $265
This is the ideal membership for rowers looking to get the most out of the high school program. It allows the rower full access to the facilities for high school practices throughout the year.

Spring Membership: $90
All the privliges of the regular high school membership but for the spring season only.

Fall Membership: $75
All the privliges of the regular high school membership but for the fall season only.

Coxwains: $100
The club is looking for committed coxwains to steer the boats to victory. A great coxwain can make a crew faster and the club will provide coxwains with all the tools and skills necessary to help win races.

CONTACT your high school coach for more information and keep a look out for recruitment at your school this April 2009.
